As the roles filled by network system engineers shift to meet a quickly evolving manufacturing landscape, employers will need to be flexible and creative in their talent acquisition strategy. The candidate should be a combination of hard and soft skills, including technology and communication abilities. That might mean being open to engineering supervisors looking to make the transition from sectors like manufacturing to growing areas like research and development to enable CARIAD as an in house development culture. Key tasks and responsibilities: • Experience with communication matrix design with regards to CAN/LIN/SomeIP/DDS, and its tool chain, e.g. Capital Network, VDE… • Skilled in communication testing, e.g. CAN/LIN/Ethernet • Develop vehicle communication network management control system from platform concept, function realization to HW/SW requirement level • Define vehicle start up with regards to timing and sequence, and corporate with HPC system responsible for internal start up design • Define wakeup and shutdown scenario and HW&SW solution for each single ECU with BTVs • Develop enterprise application specifications of ethernet communication base protocols, e.g. UDP/TCP, Some/IP, AVB/TSN, gPTP, TLS, SecOC, E2E protection … • Skilled in AUTOSAR CP SW architecture, especially COM related stack • Good knowhow in vehicle data upload control system concept and development • Define ethernet single service design principle, service invoking guideline, and service management strategy of user access, confliction arbitration, priority • Define VLAN split strategy and design VLAN channels accordingly, manage VLAN ID assignment, VLAN configuration setting on ethernet nodes • PHY and Switch configuration: PHY master/slave principles and assignment, Local MAC address ID assignment, SWITCH port/ARP/ARL, flow control • IP configuration: IP address assignment, Multicast group address, IP fragment, TCP/IP, DHCP… • Investigate advanced technology of network management and its application scenario in EEA platform, e.g. TC10, 10BaseT1S, CAN XL • Good chip knowhow of communication, MCU, SoC Chip HW architecture, e.g. CAN/LIN transceiver, ETH PHY, PMIC, TC4x, RH850, MTK8676, Horizon J6, SA8295/8155… • Problem solving for ethernet communication issues in testing, plant and field Qualification and skills: Education background • Major in Electrical/Electronics/Automation/Communication engineering with bachelor degree or above Working experiences • 3+ years working experience in automotive communication architecture & development • International company working experience is a plus Technical / Professional skills • Demonstrated experience in automotive communication network management knowhow and automotive ethernet development • Skill in network tools, e.g. VN56xx, CANoe, CANape, INCA, Wireshark, Oscilloscope, PICO…… • Have strong knowhow on automotive communication network technology: CAN, LIN, ETH, AutoSAR NM & PNC, MCU/SoC boot… and ethernet protocols: IP, TCP/UDP, Socket, AVB/TSN, gPTP, MQTT, HTTP, VLAN, Some/IP, security encryption… • Basic knowledge on communication, power and controller chip, e.g. CAN transceiver, ETH PHY, SWITCH, PMIC, MCU, SoC • Basic knowledge of MBSE - Model Based System Engineering • English is fluent, German is a plus
